The ITRA Schools Leinster Team Racing Championships unfolded spectacularly on Friday, March 7th, hosted by the Royal Irish Yacht Club (RIYC). Sixteen teams from across the province showcased exceptional sailing prowess, competing in a series of 56 thrilling races. Many thanks to RO Robbie Walker and his experienced race committee and all volunteers.  

For the past six years we have been running a very successful Adult Sailing programme in which we teach adults to sail using our 1720 fleet. 

The Royal Irish Yacht Club has nominated Dave Maguire's 'Team Valkyrie' to represent the Club at the 2025 Rolex New York Yacht Club Invitational Cup this September.

As usual this will be a joint Club endeavour with the waterfront clubs working together to get the best possible TY programme going forward. 

Congratulations to our RIYC White Sails Cruiser team of Joan Sheffield (Just Jasmin), Katherine Sheehan (Great Escape) and Catherine Day (Shearwater) on winning the Roy Family Perpetual Trophy for the best team performance at the Women At The Helm (WATH) 2024 regatta held at Dun Laoghaire.

When you become a Member of the Royal Irish Yacht Club, you automatically become a Member of the Irish Sailing Association (Irish Sailing) which is the national governing body for sailing, powerboating and windsurfing.
