Thursday 20 February: Dons, donors and dormers: The early residential buildings of Trinity College Dublin.  RIYC Member Andrew Somerville will deliver an illustrated talk on the early buildings of Trinity College Dublin, from the Elizabethan Quadrangle up to the residential ranges of the early eighteenth century.  He will also discuss where Trinity students came from geographically, socially, and denominationally? Some famous names appear – for example, Oliver Goldsmith, the United Irishman Henry Sheares, Douglas Hyde.  The talk is based on his book The early residential buildings of Trinity College Dublin. Thursday 6 March:  Adventures on the Silk Road talk with RIYC member Des Cummins featuring his memorable travels across Uzbekistan and Turkey. Thursday 6th March at 19.30hrs and is open to RIYC Members and guests. For optional supper afterwards book with [email protected]
