Monthly meetings of the RIYC Military History Group take place in the Drawing Room at 19.30hrs and all Members and their guests are welcome. There is an optional supper €38, in the Dining Room following the talk at 20.45hrs. All members welcome. Book with Catering.

Thursday 6 MarchThursday 6 March:  Adventures on the Silk Road talk with RIYC Member Des Cummins featuring his memorable travels  adventuring alone on the Silk Road in the footsteps of Marco Polo to Azerbaijan, crossing the Caspian Sea to Kazakhstan in search of the Aral Sea, once the world’s fourth largest body of inland water, and the Muslim Holy site in Uzbekistan and Samarkand. Estimated to have been founded between 8th and 7th century BC Samarkand is one of the oldest inhabited cities in Central Asia which prospered from its location on the trade route between Europe and China. Thursday 6th March at 19.30hrs open to RIYC Members and guests.
