It gives me great pleasure as Commodore of the Royal Irish Yacht Club to welcome you to the Club's website which I hope you will find informative and helpful. The Royal Irish Yacht Club is situated in a central location in Dun Laoghaire Harbour with excellent access and visiting sailors can be sure of a special welcome.
The Club was founded in 1831 and features the first purpose-built Yacht Clubhouse in the world - for the full Club History
click here. The building is now a listed structure and retains to this day all its original architectural features combined with state of the art facilities for sailors both ashore and afloat.
Visiting yachtsmen both cruising and racing are always welcome to the Club and are encouraged to take advantage of the excellent facilities that we have at our disposal.
If you are visiting from another Club, please have with you a letter of introduction from your Club or introduce yourself to the Club Secretary, Sarah Breen or to a member of management staff, who will show you the Club's facilities.
Part of Club life is availing of the magnificent Clubhouse facilities where you can meet new people and develop lasting friendships. The Club hosts a wide variety of social events throughout the calendar year making it easy to keep in touch with fellow yachtsmen and women. As well as the regularly scheduled events, the Club caters for parties, informal events, educational seminars, themed dinners and all occasions. All this and more is brought to you by our highly qualified and professional catering team. We are extremely proud of our catering department that facilitates all types of gatherings, both formal and casual, and always to the highest quality and standard. We have a number of venues within the Club each of which provides a different ambiance to match your particular needs. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us directly or browse the website which we hope contains the additional information you require.
